| Upholstery
We are able to undertake the cleaning of all types of upholstered items from ranging sofas to headboards. The two main methods which we use involve either the use of water based cleaning products “wet cleaning” or the use of solvent based cleaning products “dry cleaning”. Both processes involve several stages of treatment to give the best possible results. These include:-
- Powerful vacuum cleaning to remove all loose dirt.
- Pre-spraying of ingrained stains with appropriate chemicals.
- Application by hand of foam-fibre shampoo (gentle agitation of fabric to loosen dirt).
- Thorough rinsing using an extraction machine with a neutralising PH agent.
- Towelling or cold air blower to facilitate drying if required.
Above steps 1-5 are for wet cleaning.
Dry cleaning incorporates steps 1 and 2 then a solvent application/extraction machine would be used.
Although many fabric house/suppliers advise that their fabrics should only be professionally dry cleaned we know through experience and testing that a significant proportion of fabrics can be wet cleaned. Not only is the cost of wet cleaning cheaper, but the results are generally better.
Once upholstered items have been cleaned they can then be fabric protected which will help prevent dirt and vicious stains penetrating the fabric.
